2010 Chardonnay CHOA
Our new barrel fermented Chardonnay exhibits a very unique nose and flavour profile. This wine was fermented and aged in CHOA barrels for 3 months. CHOA are slow toast barrels made from mixed woods of Cherry, Hickory, Oak and Ash, all grown in Prince Edward County. The nose is spicy with notes of fresh pear, nutmeg and vanilla. Fruit forward and very lush on the palate with honeydew melon, tangerine and camomille. Round and full with a lingering finish and clean acidity.
2010 Riesling
Our Riesling has an intense citrus pear nose with hints of lilac and flint. On the palate, a touch of upfront sweetness gives way to mouth watering key lime and melons. Steely minerality leads to a long finish.
2010 Frontenac Gris Rosé
The nose is strawberry-sweet with rhubarb, cherry and candy apple. The flavour is just as enticing, exuding flavours such as strawberry, citrus with a spicy finish and a hint of cinnamon.
2009 Pinot Noir
Our Pinot Noir reveals vanilla, sandalwood and floral undertones. Fruit forward black cherry, fennel and damp earth with complex mineral notes through the mid palate. Firm acidity melds with silky texture, light tannins and vibrancy through to the finish. Decanting rounds out the mouthfeel for maximum enjoyment.
2010 Cabernet Franc
Our 2010 Cabernet Franc reflects the richness of the hot dry summer. It exhibits a nose of sandalwood, nutmeg, toffee and plums. Soft on the palate with firm tannins, blackcurrant, tobacco and dark chocolate. It has balanced acidity and a long finish.
2010 Merlot
Our 2010 Merlot has a deep garnet colour. The nose unveils cassis, dark cherries, leather and cigar box. Lush and velvety on the palate, with blackberry, liquorice and hints of coco and nutmeg. Reserved use of oak reveals complexity, firm tannins and balanced acidity leading to a long finish.
2010 Quintus
Our 2010 Quintus is a unique blend of five Old World varietals; Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbecand Petit Verdot. Our blend creates a captivating garnet hue with an inky black tint. The aromas are of florals, dark fruit, cassis, tobacco, earth and a hint of dark chocolate. This complexity translates seamlessly on the palate with balanced acidity and a lingering finish.
2010 The 5th Element
The Fifth Element is Petit Verdot, a very rare and virtually never seen single varietal. This wine has a bright dark fruit nose with smoked cardamom and eucalyptus. It is very full and rich on the palate with cassis, red licorice and tobacco. A long peppery finish with vivid acidity make for a perfect pairing with grilled steak or lamb.
2010 Van Alstine White
Another first, Karlo Estates VanAlstine White Port. This unusual wine is a blend of estate grown Frontenac Blanc and Gewürztraminer. The nose is reminiscent of fresh apricots, lychee and hints of rose petal. On the palate mandarin orange and lemon pie interplay with a kiss of hazelnut. Balanced acidity gives way to a lingering finish.
2009 Van Alstine
Our Port is a first in the county. Spicy black raspberry and cassis dominate the nose with red licorice and cedar. Round and full on the mouth with rich ripe fruit and a lingering finish.
