Just in time for the Halloween season and in celebration of #OntarioGarlicWeek, Karlo is serving up garlic all week long. (Friday, Oct 29th to Sun, Nov 7th)
Karlo Estates kicks off #OntarioGarlicWeek at this week’s Friday Night Wine Lounge with classic garlic bread available during our Adult Pumpkin Carving Contest. Bring your own pumpkin and compete for a “people’s choice” prize for the best pumpkin as decided by secret ballot vote at the end of the night. Wine Lounge runs from 6PM to 9PM so you’ll have 3 hours to cut your best Jack O’lantern.
Then, this Saturday, October 30th, from 2PM to 7PM, meet Sandy Grier of Green Ridge Farm to learn about garlic. She’ll have four different kinds, in both medium and large, good for eating and planting for next year. Sandy will also have fermented Black Garlic, all for purchase from our bar in the main foyer of our historic 1805 post and beam barn.
We’ll continue all week long serving up garlic toast for $5, perfect for pairing with a glass of wine in front of our newly installed fireplace in our indoor patio or while snuggled up in the Wine Lounge for a cozy night out.
Next Friday Night Wine Lounge, November 5th join us for a Garlic Spaghetti Dinner on our heated indoor patio or in the Wine Lounge. We’ll be serving up Nuts for Cheese black garlic organic & dairy-free fermented wedge nestled in a bed of spaghetti Aglio e Olio paired to a glass of our newly-released Estate Chardonnay or Estate Pinot Noir. 6:00 PM Garlic Popcorn Reception 7:00PM Pasta Dinner. $37 per person plus tax & tip.
The following Saturday, November 6th and Sunday, November 7th, Green Ridge Farm will again have garlic available for purchase at the winery. Come pick up a copy of The Social Herbivore’s “Perfect Pairings for Plant Based Cuisine” for more ideas on how to get your garlic on this All Saints Halloween Season.
Free Garlic Bread for those who come dressed as a vampire.
