Come join veteran singer/songwriters Mel Hilmi and Amanda Wilkinson who will be joining the stage for our special PRIDE cabaret show on Saturday 8 June 6:30 - 830 playing their original music and some of your favourite classics. This acoustic duo will showcase material from their long history as collaborative partners and many familiar tunes by artists such as Aretha Franklin,Fleetwood Mac and many more.
Mel Hilmi is a singer-songwriter raised in Belleville, Ontario. Throughout her years as a songwriter, she has written extensively with other artists leading to a finalist spot in the International Songwriting Competition based in Nashville, as well as multiple song placements in film and television. In 2010 after co-producing and releasing a solo album entitled Revolution, Melanie attended the audio production program at The Harris Institute in Toronto to hone her craft as a producer and engineer. As a vocalist Melanie has had the privilege of performing alongside numerous accomplished performers such as Donovan Woods and Begonia. She continues to lend her vocals to various national TV spots with brands like Nestlé, McDonalds, and Rowing Canada.
In addition to producing other artists, Mel is currently working on another solo project set to be released in 2024. She was also a member of the alt-folk band The Belleregards, who toured extensively across North America and the UK, co-producing and releasing four albums.
Individual and co-written materials have been licensed to the Showcase Network television series Lost Girl, Lost and Found Music Studios/The Next Step (Family Channel, NETFLIX) and Space Channel’s Dark Matter.
Amanda Wilkinson, born in Belleville Ontario, Canada is internationally known in her role as lead singer of the multi Grammy, American Music Award, Country Music Award, Juno Award, Canadian County Music Award nominated/winning band The Wilkinsons. Amanda started her career early signing her first record deal in Nashville at the age of 16. The Wilkinsons debut single, 26 Cents was a number one song leading to gold certifications both in the US and Canada.
Her success continued beyond The Wilkinsons with a subsequent debut solo project and duo Small Town Pistols (with her brother Tyler) which further garnered multi Juno and Canadian Country Music award nominations and wins.
In addition she was asked by CMT as a member of The Wilkinsons to be part of the 2 season, reality television series The Wilkinsons that saw great success and was celebrated by multi Gemini award nominations and a spin off. Currently Amanda is working on her second solo project, Mandi and the Marvels that is now in production and anticipating a release in 2024.
